Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
I see, so when he doesn't play well it's OK because he played well aginst Spurs last season for half a game, when somebody else doesn't play well though, they should be criticised even if they're 16 years old or someone who has consistently performed well.

Incidentally, Kouyate scored in our first game and set up Payet in our second.

Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
Better in a very average performance doesn't really mean bugger all, but I find the constant need for many to single out players for their weekly abuse a bit tiring.

Regardless of what you think of a player, to always purely blame them for losses or poor team showings is pathetic and clueless.

The full backs and midfield as a whole (with the exception of Payet) were below their best on Saturday, but Noble wasn't anywhere near being the worst of the bunch.

I personally see Noble as more of a squad player going forward, but that only works when we actually have someone in his position who is better than him and if people are unable to see that, then they're watching the wrong sport, as I imagine Obiang will be Oxford's long term replacement this season and not Noble's.

Save the animosity for players who don't give a fuck about the club and not lads like Noble.

We're called supporters, but as far as I can see, a huge amount of people now do anything but support.

How does that alter the fact Noble was better on Saturday?

Surely the ONLY important thing for 99% of supporters is current form.

Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
To be fair, Oxford is 16 and Kouyate has consistently been better than Noble since he arrived.

Why have you not had a pop at Kouyate or Oxford? Both far worse than Noble was, which was why both were replaced.

Of course being fair doesn't suit your agenda.

Obiang looked top drawer when he came on.

Obiang looked quLity. Amazing what can happen when you move the ball forward with pace.

motley -Yea I agree.

Herm - To be fair mate, the point I made before the game was that we looked too workmanlike playing Noble, Oxford and Kouyate, and said I would have played The Jewel, I didn't specifically say that the boy should have been left out.

Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
Obiang was probably only scheduled to play 25 minutes at most. He has only featured in one game prior, hasn't he?

In fairness to PD, he did call it before the game.

PD Bilic will learn from every game he sees and act accordingly.
Unlike the previous idiot, who continued to repeat the same mistakes over and over again.

Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
worm - I wouldn't disagree me old mate, but this is big boys shit and Bilic gets paid a lot of money to make these calls. Like I say if he'd gone with his gut I'm quite sure he would have played Obiang, so IMO he didn't want to make a big call. Cest la vie.

worm 9:53 Mon Aug 17
Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
PD - It would have been very, very harsh to leave him out after last week. He deserved to start, he also deserved to come off at half time.

Your opinion. The Jenko decision was a lot easier to make.

One McAvennieeeeee 9:43 Mon Aug 17
Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
He made the call to put Jenko in at right back so I don't believe he bottled anything.

I don't actually think Oxford played that bad. He just wasn't really in the game.

Private Dancer 9:38 Mon Aug 17
Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
worm - The hindsight thing always gets dragged up. Remember Obiang wasn't available last week, that's why the boy played, this week he was so Bilic had to make a decsion, either stick with the boy or play a player he bought in the summer. He should have gone with his gut, which I strongly suspect was to play Obiang. IMO he bottled it a bit, but there you go.

Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
You can say Bilic got it wrong by selecting Oxford but hindsight is an amazing tool.
He earned the right to start Saturday, ok he showed he isnt quite up to it yet but he earned his place at Arsenal.

Kouyate was terrible first half. He also started the Arsenal game very poorly.

Kouyate was definitely are weak link in the middle on the day. I'm not expecting too many performances like Saturday's. A blip MUNS

NEVER SAY DIE 12:38 Mon Aug 17
Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
Maybe my eyes where too busy watching Leicester run all over us in the first half but out of the 3 central midfielders I actually thought Noble was only one that had a reasonable first 45.

Kouyate probably had one of his worst games since he signed here, actually think he was beaten in the middle for headers twice by players 6 inches smaller than him. Oxford should never have started but Bilic likely thought we could keep the momentum going after the brilliant performance at Arsenal. One problem though, Leicester play nothing like Arsenal so tactically the boss was found out in the first 45 mins, not the lad's fault at all.

Obiang came on 2nd half and was head and shoulders above the other 3. Quick passing, good range of passing, swift movement, definitely changed the game in our favour.

As for Noble we need to add the likes of Song so that he, Kouyate or even Obiang don't get complacent in the middle. They all need to be fighting for their place in every game and giving their all and not worrying about who's booing and why..

Re: Caller on 606 says Noble has had his day ....
Anyone judging Oxford and Noble's performance the same is a joke.

Not nice to knock Oxford after an excellent performance last weekend but yesterday he looked a 16 year old in a mans world and was awful. Had Nolan turned in such a performance people would be screaming blue murder.

Not really his fault however, Bilic go it wrong tactically.
